Hi Michael,
The next features for 1.3 are currently:
- QCPBars can now be grouped (with QCPBarsGroup), so multiple QCPBars with the same key can appear next to each other around that key. (done)
- The bar width will not be fixed to plot coordinates anymore, but can be switched to absolute pixels and axis-rect-relative units. (done)
- QCPBars can have a non-zero base-value, so your bars can "stand on" any y-value, not just zero. (done)
- A new plottable QCPFinancial
for charting open-high-low-close data (OHLC/Candlestick), that's often used in the finance sector (currently in progress).
Plans for 1.3 which I haven't started yet:
- Rich text support for QCPItemText
- Alternating brushes for the sections between grid lines
- Replacement of the old QCPCurve optimization algorithm which currently glitches in some zoomed-in situations.
The new QCPCurve algorithm should definitely make it into the 1.3 but the section brushes and rich-text might be shifted to a later release if the release period would become too long.
A long-term idea for the next major release is a refactoring of the selection mechanism to use a more flexible selection model, which then also allows data point or multiple data point selection, e.g. via a selection box. Further, classes will be added (visitors/engines) to allow more flexible (by subclassing the visitors/engines) axis tick generation and plottable data (like data calculated or fetched on-the-fly from the currently displayed range)
Those are the main things, though my todo list with ideas for future releases is over 50 points long :). Radial plots are still not a priority, sorry. For the reasoning, see this thread:
