The QCustomPlot website only stores and processes the personal data that is necessary for user-friendly operation, and tries to keep the amount of stored personal data to a minimum. In the following, the different categories of data, as well as the involved processing of the data is explained.
The regular logfiles created by the server contain a shortened form of your IP address (last eight bits anonymized), your browser type and version, your referring website URL and the date/time of the connection request. The logfiles are analyzed irregularly in order to learn about the visitor count of the qcustomplot.com website, and the preferred browser to optimize website appearance. A local program is used for analysis, the logfiles are not processed by a third party service, except for the default usage statistics generation by the webspace provider that hosts qcustomplot.com (Artfiles New Media GmbH).
If you have subscribed to the newsletter, your email address is stored asymmetrically encrypted, of which the private key is not stored on the server.
If you submit a post on the forum, the according content text, your pseudonym, the current date and time, and a shortened form of your IP address (last eight bits anonymized) are stored.
If you submit a contact message through the contact form, the entered information (name, email, message) is forwarded to the support email address and thus is stored on the email server.
The qcustomplot.com website uses a PHP session cookie to keep people logged in to the forum and remember their pseudonym during a session. However, the website excluding the forum is still functional if you choose to block cookies via according settings in your browser. This session cookie isn't used by qcustomplot.com to track you across different websites or analyze your user behaviour.
For example, you may request further details about the nature of the data storage and processing, copies of your data, amendment of your data in case it is incorrect or incomplete, as well as immediate deletion of your data, and the objection of future processing of your data. For details, please see the respective articles, e.g. 16 to 21, of the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679.
Your personal data will be deleted as soon as it is not needed anymore for the website's operation and, if you have subscribed to the newsletter, sending of newsletters to you. For example, upon unsubscribing from the newsletter, the according database entry containing your encrypted email address is deleted. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter either by clicking the unsubscribe-link offered at the bottom of every newsletter email, or by simply contacting us via the support email address or the contact form.
